Every Alaskan resident gets oil check for $3269: Drill Baby Drill

There’s a reason Governor Palin strongly supports drilling for oil on the North Slope:  her family will get almost $20,000 in oil dividends this year.  It pays to live in Alaska.  Literally!

Every man, woman and child will receive $2,069 this year as a dividend payment from Alaska’s oil royalty investment program.  Additionally every resident gets $1200 from the state to offset the high fuel prices.  To qualify, you must have lived in Alaska the entire calendar year.  That’s it, there’s no other requirement!

Big Oil has successfully bought off every resident.  This program was established in 1976 when oil was discovered at North Slope.  The first payout was in 1982 when everyone received $1000.  Alaskans have personally collected $16.5 billion from the fund.  The energy relief money has distributed an additional $730 million.  Residents who have lived in Alaska since 1982 have collected $29,605 - or over $118,000 for a family of four.  Checks will be mailed on September 30th and for those who opted for direct deposit, they already have their share.

Another person in the white house who has been bought and paid for by Big Oil.  That does not sound like reform or change to me.
